Countrsyide versus city

Some people in rural areas thought that evacuees from cities had never seen a blade of grass or a cow, and that they spent all their time in the cinema. In fact many evacuees had been on holiday to the countryside or seaside.

Nevertheless country life was very different, and this had a profound effect on some children.
